Why We Built This Site
Knowing which office holds a record is often harder than making the request. In Mercer County, the sheriff and Circuit Clerk are both based at the courthouse in Princeton, but their files answer different questions. The sheriff keeps law-enforcement and county jail records. The clerk supplies case dockets, public documents, dispositions, and certified court copies. Missouri Case.net provides remote court information, and Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS runs MACHS for statewide criminal-history checks. Corrections and registry records follow still other channels.
Mercer County has no verified public jail roster, sheriff records portal, or separate municipal criminal-record database. That makes accurate phone, mail, counter, and statewide fallback routes especially useful. The site organizes official portals, verified contacts, fees when published, and practical request steps without presenting itself as the holder of any government record.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site with no affiliation to Mercer County, the State of Missouri, any court, or any law-enforcement agency. Its role has firm limits.
- We cannot obtain an official criminal record or run a government background check for a visitor
- We cannot submit an expungement petition, public-records request, or court filing for anyone
- We cannot issue certified case documents, criminal histories, or other official copies
- We cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or eligibility question
- We cannot promise that an agency's address, fee, hours, or procedure has not changed
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Mercer County sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS, or another issuing office. This site can identify a route but cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Those businesses control their own results, terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports the site's operation. We do not set the provider's charges, prepare its data, or control the records it returns.
